Polaris BIOS Editor: main functions
The program Polaris BIOS Editor is designed for timings changes in flashing the BIOS. It is used for all types of video cards: Elpida, Micton, Hynix, and Samsung. Miners change timings in order to increase mining performance and the Polaris BIOS Editor is highly recommended.
What do you need to know about BIOS mod?
There are various guides and tutorials how to BIOS mod your GPU and they are all very confusing and risky to use, especially if you accidentally use a BIOS that is not made for your GPU. In BIOS we need only to change Memory Timings.
There are many reasons to do it that way, because as you see in my Ethereum Mining Guide under Overclock section, the GPU’s don’t behave identical even if they are the same GPU they can give much different results.
The program is easy to use. First, download the program, unpack it into the convenient place and then run the program. Click Open BIOS in the upper left corner and then opens flashing. Click on the way to choose timings: automatically or manually. Make steps according to the regime. Having opened the flashing, click One click timing patch. Create an account or log into Facebook. Connect with friends, family and other people you know. Share photos and videos, send messages and get updates.
For example I have 50 Sapphire RX 570 4gb Elpida memory cards, they are all exact the same and the results I have from them:
- some GPU can handle only 1950 mhz on memory
- some GPU can handle 2125 mhz on memory
- some GPU can run at 800mV on memory voltage
- some GPU can run at 875mV on memory voltage
As you notice there is a wide range of possible GPU settings, even if they are the same GPU.
It would be very dangerous to put voltage values and memory clock values in the BIOS, because one of the GPU’s could not handle it properly and you could even brick your card.
And it makes no sense to do it if you have software like OverdriveNtool which gives you full access to GPU and it’s voltages and clock rates.
THERE ARE NO UNIVERSAL GPU SETTINGS, please follow the Overclock chapter in my Ethereum Mining Guide for the only right way to overclock and under-volt your GPU’s.

How to use Polaris BIOS Editor

The program is easy to use. First, download the program, unpack it into the convenient place and then run the program.
Click Open BIOS in the upper left corner and then opens flashing.
Click on the way to choose timings: automatically or manually. Make steps according to the regime.
Having opened the flashing, click One click timing patch. All timings were edited automatically. Then press Save as. The entire flashing is saved.
Users can also change the voltage in the GPU and memory.
Target temperature is the temperature that the card will try to maintain, either increasing the cooler speed or lowering the frequencies. The last one is used less often; it all depends on the manufacturer. Polaris Bios Editor
Power control limit. In case a user does not use the afterburner, then this option is similar to the Power limit. It is necessary to lower it in the same way.
In order to turn on the fan, it is possible to configure it in the Fan column. In case with a downtime the fan does not turn on at all, then change Min pwm to a positive value; the value is estimated in percent.

Unlocking of additional shaders is not available for all cards. The best way to do it is using SRBPolaris.
